When you navigate to Packet Capture > Wireless the Wireless tab is displayed by default.
The table has the following columns
Status
Name/Friendly Name
IP Address
Radio Mode
Radio Band
Channel
Start/Stop Capture
The table lists all available SonicWaves(APs), and each row on this list shows the basic information and status of a SonicWave device.
Expand the row to view the following details of the device's wireless data capture settings.
Wireless Packet Capture Radio Settings
Wireless Packet Capture Buffer Statics are displayed.
You can also do the options described below:
To Capture the wireless data
For a device, click on Start Capture to start the capture. The status of buffer statistics will be 'Trace Active'.
For a device, click on Stop Capture to stop the capture. The status of buffer statistics will be 'Trace Off'.
Hovering on a device shows the below options
Configure: User to configure Wireless data capture settings.
Download Captured Packets: Used to download already captured packets.
Clear Buffer: Used to clear the captured packets buffer.
To Configure the Wireless Packet Capture
Navigate to Air Marshal > Packet Capture > Wireless.
Click on the configure icon hovering the mouse to the right hand side of the device. The wireless data capture settings page is displayed.
Specify the Capture Radio Settings options:
Mode - The options are 2.4GHz 802.11n/g/b Mixed, 5GHz 802.11n/a Mixed, and
5GHz 802.11ac/n/a Mixed.
Radio Band - The options are Standard 20MHZ Channel, Wide 40MHZ Channel, and Wide 80MHZ Channel.
Standard Channel - Choose a frequency channel as per your requirement.
Specify the 802.11 Packet Capture Settings option. You can enable or disable the Wrap Capture Buffer Once Full option.
Specify the Capture Filter Settings options:
Basic Service Set Identifier (BSSID)
Extended Service Set Identifier (ESSID)
Toggle the option on or off for Enable Bidirectional Address Matching
Toggle the option on or off for Exclude Beacon
Toggle the option on or off for Exclude Probe Request
Toggle the option on or off for Exclude Probe Response
Toggle the option on or off for Exclude Control
Toggle the option on or off for Exclude Data
Click OK to save the changes.
