How to use the SSL certificate for WAN Management and SSLVPN

Description

When you have generated the CSR on SonicWall and got it signed using the KB : How do I generate a new SSL certificate from my SonicWall firewall?, the next step would be uploading it and using it for various inbound connections. Two of the most used services for this SSL Certificate would be 

  1. HTTPS management
  2. SSL VPN connectivity


Resolution for SonicOS 7.X

This release includes significant user interface changes and many new features that are different from the SonicOS 6.5 and earlier firmware. The below resolution is for customers using SonicOS 7.X firmware.

For HTTPS management over the WAN, please change the self-signed certificate to use the certificate you just imported

The 'Certificate Common Name' can be the same as that given in the certificate while you generated the CSR. Click Accept to save the changes.

For SSL VPN connectivity, to use the certificate, navigate to Network | SSL VPN | Server settings

Click Accept to save the changes.

Resolution for SonicOS 6.5

This release includes significant user interface changes and many new features that are different from the SonicOS 6.2 and earlier firmware. The below resolution is for customers using SonicOS 6.5 firmware.

For HTTPS management over the WAN, please change the self-signed certificate to use the certificate you just imported.
