How to specify user name format for Radius Authentication

Description

This article explains how we can specify the username format for Radius authentication.If the RADIUS server requires that user names are sent with the domain component included, then select the format for that here.

Resolution for SonicOS 7.X

This release includes significant user interface changes and many new features that are different from the SonicOS 6.5 and earlier firmware. The below resolution is for customers using SonicOS 7.X firmware.

  1.  Navigate to Device| Users|Settings|Authentication and click Configure next to configure RADIUS        Image
  2. On the  RADIUS configuration tab under Settings, edit the RADIUS server entry      Image
  3. For selected RADIUS server entry under Advanced section|User Name Format, choose the required format and save the change      Image


Resolution for SonicOS 6.5

This release includes significant user interface changes and many new features that are different from the SonicOS 6.2 and earlier firmware. The below resolution is for customers using SonicOS 6.5 firmware.


  1. Navigate to Manage|Users|settings, under the Authentication section click on CONFIGURE RADIUSImage
  2. On the Radius Configuration page, under Settings|RADIUS Servers, click the edit icon of the RADIUS server      Image
  3. On the Edit server tab, under Advanced|User Name Format select the required format and save the changes      Image
