How to access Safemode Chassis page on Supermassive 9800
Description
This article explains how to access the Safemode Chassis page for performing ChassisOS upgrades/ Firmware upgrades on the Supermassive 9800
Resolution
Contrary to the Safemode process used for NSA/Supermassive 9k devices, the Supermassive 9800's Safemode is always ON and can be accessed in a web browser by navigating to the ChassisIP page.
The Chassis IP can be set in the MGMT interface configuration of the Sonicwall, under Network | Interfaces
- IP Address (Primary) - MGMT IP of HA Primary
- IP Address (Secondary) - MGMT IP of HA Secondary
- Chassis IP Address (Primary) - Chassis IP of HA Primary
- Chassis IP Address (Secondary) - Chassis IP of HA Secondary
Under Chassis Management
- Enable check box for Ping in Chassis Management to allow Ping to Chassis OS IP
- Enable check box for SSH in Chassis Management to allow SSH to Chassis OS IP
- Enable check box for HTTP in Chassis Management to allow HTTP access to Safe Mode
To access the ChassisOS page, navigate to http://ChassisIP
From this page, new Firmware can be uploaded, as well as the ChassisOS files. Some of the version information on this page can be useful to speed up troubleshooting when contacting Technical Support, such as :
Failsafe Version ( The latest being 6.2.1.7)
ChassisOS version (The latest being 6.0.3.5)
ROM Chassis (The latest being 5.5.0.11)
