Please note the following before start upgrading the GMS system/s:
- GMS version 9.2 and older are out of support hence can’t be supported. The above matrix can be followed to upgrade the supported versions to the supported version which is 9.3.
- GMS only supports serial upgrade upto 8.6 and doesn’t allow skipping any version in between. For ex: Upgrading from 8.3 to 8.6, have to go through all Major GMS versions and Service pack in between and the upgrade path will look like 8.3 > 8.3.1 > 8.4 > 8.4.1 > 8.5 > 8.6
- GMS 9.0 can only be upgraded to GMS 9.1 AIOP. Perform a fresh install of 9.1 for distributed deployment.
- For direct upgrade from 8.4 and 8.5 to GMS 8.7 refer KB https://www.sonicwall.com/support/knowledge-base/?sol_id=190404184134719
- GMS 8.7 can be directly upgraded to GMS 9.3 after applying all the hotfixes and service packs for 8.7.
- GMS 9.3 upgrade guide is attached for reference.
