Resolution

Google Talk (GTalk) software uses the following domain “Filetransferenabled.mail.google.com” to transfer the files

We can block File transfer on gtalk using the content filtering service, by adding this domain in the Security Services | Content Filtering | Custom List tab.

1)      Login to the SonicWall Appliance

2)      Go to Security Services | Content Filtering

3)      Click Configure button, SonicWall Filter Properties window is displayed.

4)      Click on Custom List tab

5)      Add the domain Filetransferenabled.mail.google.com in the forbidden domain list.

6)      Click OK.

NOTE: The Enable Allowed/Forbidden Domains check box has to be enabled to activate this feature.

 7)   SonicWall will block the (Google Talk) File transfers and shows the following log message in Log | view page
