Green AP for power saving

Description

SonicWall access points support green AP mode. When no client connects to the AP, enabling this feature will allow the radio to go to sleep mode for power saving. The sleep Radio will exit power save mode once any client associates with it.


 

Resolution for SonicOS 6.5

This release includes significant user interface changes and many new features that are different from the SonicOS 6.2 and earlier firmware. The below resolution is for customers using SonicOS 6.5 firmware.

Step 1: Navigate to Manage | Access Points | Base Settings. Click the Configure button of the SonicWave.

Step 2: Click the Advanced tab in the popup  Edit window.
Note :   Green AP can be set on each radio independently.

Step 3: Enable Green AP and set the Green AP timeout in the advanced tab.

Green AP timeout  value stands for the transition time in seconds between power save off to power save on. Timeout varies  from 10(s)  to 600(s)  and the default is 20(s).

 

Resolution for SonicOS 6.2 and Below

The below resolution is for customers using SonicOS 6.2 and earlier firmware. For firewalls that are generation 6 and newer we suggest to upgrade to the latest general release of SonicOS 6.5 firmware.

Step 1: Navigate to SonicPoint | SonicPoints | Click the Configure button of the SonicPointACi/NDRv2.

Step 2: Click the Advanced tab in the popup  Edit window.
