Choosing the correct Remote VPN Client Access Networks for GVC

Description

 Global VPN (Version 4.0.0.830 and above) Client can pass user authentication and able to connect remote VPN. But it won’t be able to access the internal networks.

Resolution

Avoid use of objects which include WAN interfaces (WAN interface IP, All Interface IP, WAN Subnets, X1 IP; All X1 Management IP) in the VPN Access Permissions on the Users / Groups on the SonicWall Firewall.

On the Firewall Users | Local Groups or Local users and click on Configure.Make sure to exclude

 

WAN interface IP,

All Interface IP,

WAN Subnets,

X1 IP;

All X1 Management IP

 Image The following objects can be included:

  • X0 Subnets or any other interface (X2, X3) subnets. 
  • LAN, DMZ, WLAN  Subnets
  • Address Objects of IP Address/es of hosts, group of hosts.
