NetExtender Error: One or more error were found in the secure sockets Layer (SSL) certificate sent by the server

Resolution

 

Problem Definition:

When users tries to connect to SonicWall Appliance using NetExtender they will error as "One or more error were found in the secure sockets Layer (SSL) certificate sent by the server"

Resolution or Workaround:

As the RC4 Cipher is vulnerable today, admin needs to change the cipher method in SSLVPN settings of SonicWall Appliance. Follow below steps to change the cipher method in settings.

Login to SonicWall Management GUI

Step 1: Navigate to SSLVPN -> Server Settings page.

Step 2: Select "Enable Server Cipher Preference" checkbox under SSL VPN Server Settings.

Step 3: Select "3DES_SHA1" from dropdown box near Cipher Method.

Step 4: Click Accept button on the top of the page to save the changes.
