Network Security Services Enforced Client Anti-Virus & Anti-Spyware Software
Choice of McAfee®
Working in conjunction with Dell SonicWALL firewalls, Dell SonicWALL Enforced Client Anti-Virus and Anti Spyware software provides comprehensive gateway-enforced virus and spyware protection for desktops and laptops. Dell SonicWALL firewalls ensure that all of the computers accessing the network have the latest version of anti-virus and anti-spyware software installed and active.
Automated updates of virus and spyware signatures eliminate the need for time-consuming machine-by-machine anti-virus deployments.
Multi-layered protection.
A firewall’s gateway anti-virus solution provides the first layer of defense at the perimeter, stopping most attacks before they enter the network. But viruses can still enter the network through multiple entry points. Dell SonicWALL's strategy is to provide an innovative, multi-layered approach to anti-virus and anti-spyware protection, starting at the gateway, and then extending to both the client and the server. This solution ensures that all end-point clients are automatically updated with the latest anti-virus and anti-spyware signatures without end-user intervention.
Powerful client protection.
The next point of vulnerability that attackers may target is the individual client. Threats may be able to bypass the gateway and server, specifically targeting individual desktops or laptops through applications like instant messaging, streaming media or peer-to-peer (P2P), in addition to unauthorized portable media such as CDs or flash drives. The next layer of protection is to ensure that the anti-virus and anti-spyware application is not only installed and updated, but also active. The Dell SonicWALL Enforced Client Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware solution proactively detects and blocks viruses, spyware, adware and other potentially harmful applications before they can install and compromise desktops and laptops.
Automated and enforced.
Dell SonicWALL Anti-Virus solutions provide for always-on protection, with daily anti-virus and anti-spyware updates that don’t require end-user intervention. The updates are fully automated, so there is no chance of human error or omission.
At the client level, protection is automated and always on, with daily signature updates. The deployment of client software and all updates is enforced and automated, regardless of whether the computer is on the managed network or on an unmanaged network. The automated anti-virus and anti-spyware deployment keeps administrative overhead to a minimum, while also enforcing policy and making sure that each endpoint is protected before connecting.
Centralized Anti-Virus Management & Reporting.
Compliance with both internal policies and external regulations requires visibility and reporting. Dell SonicWALL Anti-Virus Management and Reporting can be accessed through the web interface of the Dell SonicWALL firewall appliance. It reports detailed enterprise-wide information such as coverage status summary, machines updated, viruses cleaned, and spyware detected, deleted and quarantined, as well as the currency of .DAT, engine and product versions.
Additional Service: Dell SonicWALL Server Anti-Virus McAfee.
The Dell SonicWALL Server Anti-Virus McAfee suite provides best-in-class server protection, McAfee's VirusScan Enterprise for Windows® servers, NetShield® for Novell servers, and GroupShield™ for Exchange servers. These server-based products provide anti-virus protection for Windows-based file, print and Exchange servers. This product is available as part of Client/Server Anti-Virus Suite McAfee which includes Dell SonicWALL Enforced Client Anti-Virus and Spyware McAfee.
Servers can be especially vulnerable to attack, even inside the perimeter, because they continually exchange data with outside sources. As a central point for data access, a server can rapidly spread viruses throughout the entire network. Dell SonicWALL Server Anti-Virus McAfee protects sensitive information residing on messaging servers, web servers, database servers and collaboration servers from viral infections on the network. It also stops viruses that are already on the network from proliferating during the server backup, a common infection scenario. This protection is based on an advanced scanning engine that can capture both known and new viruses before they have a chance to spread. When a virus is detected, it can be automatically cleaned, deleted or quarantined.
