Flexibly deployed as software, hardware, or a virtual appliance, Dell SonicWALL GMS offers centralized real-time monitoring, and comprehensive policy and compliance reporting. For enterprise customers, Dell SonicWALL GMS streamlines security policy management and appliance deployment, minimizing administration overhead. Service Providers can use GMS to simplify the security management of multiple clients and create additional revenue opportunities. For added redundancy and scalability, GMS can be deployed in a cluster configuration.

GMS Mobile.

GMS Mobile, an application for the Apple iPhone platform allows administrators on the go to remotely log into the GMS system to see all the devices under management, check device status, and review GMS alerts as they come in.

  1. In all instances Dell SonicWALL GMS is running as a 32 bit application. Bundled databases will run in 64-bit mode on 64-bit Windows OS. All listed operating systems are supported in both virtualized (VMware ESXi 4.1) and non-virtualized environments.
    In virtualized environment, GMS is running as a 64 bit application.
  2. When using the Management VPN Tunnel option for secure communication between the Dell SonicWALL GMS server and managed appliances using VPN tunnels, a GMS Gateway is required. The GMS gateway should be at minimum a Dell SonicWALL NSA with minimum firmware SonicOS Enhanced 5.0, or a Dell SonicWALL PRO 2040 with minimum firmware SonicOS Enhanced 3.2. When using Existing VPN Tunnels or HTTPS as the management method, a GMS Gateway is not required.
  3. Legacy Dell SonicWALL XPRS/XPRS2, SonicWALL SOHO2, Dell SonicWALL Tele2, and Dell SonicWALL Pro/Pro-VX models are not supported.
  4. Only newer Aventail E-Class SSL VPN appliances using 12 character hexidecimal serial numbers.
