Fast migration options.

Complete physical-virtual, virtual-physical, or virtual-virtual migrations are available for system recovery, testing and other purposes.

Integration with CDP.

Administrators can create, transmit and store a complete system image directly on to the CDP appliance by enabling the Dell SonicWALL CDP appliance as an FTP server to allow read/write operations, and then using the Dell SonicWALL CDP System Recovery Tool wizard. IT can recover images directly from the CDP appliance to the restored system.

Created on CD or USB flash key, bootable rescue media eliminates the need to locate additional CDs and floppies and contains everything required to begin restoration of the system.

This feature helps administrators avoid the time-consuming task of locating application CDs and registration codes to reinstall programs with exact images available.

Unique open-file snapshot technology.

Snapshots render an exact image without shutting down a system, closing most applications or interrupting operations.

Individual file and folder restoration.

Administrators do not need to restore the whole partition or disk, and can restore non-system partitions without a reboot.

Sector-by-sector “raw image” capability.

This capability allows imaging of not only sectors with data, but also sectors that are free. Thus, it includes all sectors of a partition in the image and restores them whether or not they are directly supported by Dell SonicWALL CDP Universal System Recovery or corrupted.

VSS Snapshot Service.

VSS safely suspends all application and cache activity during data capture to ensure reliable backup of dynamic database applications, such as Microsoft® Exchange, SQL® and Oracle®.

Flexibly mounted BMR images.

Administrators can mount images in read-only mode or to a file system as a virtual drive, permitting users to open, create, save, copy, move and delete backed up files or folders.
