SonicWALL® Anti-Spam Desktop Help

Lists

Clicking on the Lists icon provides access to the allowed Lists (mailing lists) as shown below.  Users can view the email addresses that have been added to their allowed list and add or remove entries as desired.

How the LISTS ALLOWED LIST Works

When you add an email address to your Lists allowed list, you are telling SonicWALL Anti-Spam Desktop (ASD) that you want to always receive email sent to you from this email list.  If ASD receives an email in which the From: email address or the To: email address is on your Lists allowed list, that email will be delivered to you even if ASD judges the email to be spam or phishing.

Things to Know About the LISTS ALLOWED LIST

  1. The Lists (Mailing List) allowed list is unique in that both the To: email address and the From: email address will be scanned to see if either of them match an entry in the Lists allowed list.
  2. Entries in the Lists allowed list will be overridden by entries on the People blocked or Companies blocked lists. For example, if an email from a Mailing List named myfriends@friendlist.com is being junked, you may have inadvertently added the email address myfriends@friendlist.com to your People blocked list or friendlist.com to your Companies blocked list.

How to ADD a Mailing List Entry to Your LISTS ALLOWED LIST

  1. Click on the Add button.
  2. Format the address as shown in the screen that comes up – it must be in the form of a valid email address.
  3. Click OK.

How to REMOVE a Mailing List Entry from Your LISTS ALLOWED LIST

  1. Select address.
  2. Click on the Remove button.
  3. The email address is immediately removed from list.
