People

Clicking on the People icon provides access to the People allowed and blocked lists as shown below. Users can view the email addresses that have been added to each list and add or remove items from each list as desired.

How the People Allowed List Works

When you add an email address to your People allowed list, you are telling SonicWALL Anti-Spam Desktop (ASD) that you want to always receive email sent to you from this email address.  If ASD receives an email that is from someone on your People allowed list that email will be delivered to you even if ASD judges the email to be spam or phishing.

Three Ways an Email Address Is Added to Your People Allowed List

1. When you installed ASD, the contacts in your default Contacts List were added to your People allowed list.
2. When you send a message to someone, that person’s email address is added to your allowed list.  It is assumed that since messages are being sent to a specific address, the recipient is someone that you desire to receive correspondence from.
3. Add email addresses manually via the People icon > Allowed tab (this is shown above).

How the People Blocked List Works

When you add an email address to your People blocked list, you are telling SonicWALL Anti-Spam Desktop (ASD) that you want to always block email sent to you from this email address.  If ASD receives an email that is from someone on your People blocked list that email will always be placed in your Junk folder even if ASD judges the email to be good.

How to ADD Someone to Your People Allowed List

1. Click on the Add button.
2. Select address.
3. Click on the Remove button.
4. The email address is immediately removed from the list.

How to ADD Someone to Your People Blocked List

1. Click on the Block tab.
2. Click on the Add button.
3. Format the address as shown in the screen that comes up – it must be in the form of a valid email address.
4. Click OK.

How to REMOVE Someone from Your People Blocked List

1. Select address.
2. Click on the Remove button.
3. The email address is immediately removed from the list.
