Pharmacy image spam relents
The high-volume attack featuring pharmacy spam images in newsletter subscription templates has subsided.
We are seeing smaller volumes of spam in English, with a converse increase in the proportion of Russian spam.

Many spam messages contain up to ten words - usually a headline, or sometimes a sentence - of news material. Such apparently pointless messages are probably Directory Harvest Attack (DHA) spam.

Another numerous type contains a male potency pharmaceutical sentence, a single link to a pharmacy website, and another line or two of anti-virus information or a quotation. Links lead to websites selling pharmaceutical and herbal products.
