CISO and CIO Investment Priorities for Cybersecurity in 2023

CISOs and CIOs are shifting their priorities each year to meet escalating regulatory demands, protect new digital channels and counteract ongoing cyber incidents. Through their survey, Osterman Research examines the mindset and priorities of IT leaders which shows that investing in cybersecurity is a significantly higher priority for CISOs and CIOs than it was even two years ago.

Modern cybersecurity challenges require ongoing higher investments for 2023 and executives must budget accordingly. Budgets have increased 11% since last year and are expected to increase even further. In 2022, attacks against cloud services were the number one reported cyber-attack, and this year, CISOs and CIOs are focused on dialing in their threat protection to ensure networks and data stay secure.
