Enforced Anti-Virus & Anti-Spyware

SonicWALL® Enforced Client Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware and the SonicWALL® Client/Server Anti-Virus Suite can be deployed in multiple configurations to protect both clients and servers. The most common deployment is with both clients and servers, with the clients enforced at the gateway. Enforcement means that the SonicWALL security appliance verifies that all clients are running SonicWALL anti-virus software with the latest virus and spyware signature files. Clients that are not in compliance are redirected to automatically download updates, and Internet access is blocked until the client becomes compliant with the anti-virus policy.

SonicWALL Enforced Client Anti-Virus & Anti-Spyware

SonicWALL’s Enforced Client Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware product can be deployed at workstations, laptops and desktops, providing comprehensive anti-virus, anti-spyware, personal firewall, and browser protection.

SonicWALL Client/Server Anti-Virus Suite

SonicWALL’s Client/Server Anti-Virus Suite provides comprehensive protection for both clients and servers. It combines SonicWALL’s client anti-virus service with the server-based anti-virus protection of McAfee VirusScan Enterprise for Windows and GroupShield for Exchange, which provides anti-virus protection for Windows-based file, print, and Exchange servers. SonicWALL’s Client/Server Anti-Virus Suite provides complete protection for workstations, providing comprehensive anti-virus, anti-spyware, personal firewall, and browser protection. For servers, the suite provides advanced server and email anti-virus protection.

Stand-alone Mode

Administrators can deploy both Client/Server Anti-Virus Suite1 (for clients and servers) and SonicWALL Enforced Client Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware (for clients only) at the gateway, or in Stand-Alone Mode. Stand-alone Mode is a non-enforced configuration that provides more flexibility for administrators to deploy either of these solutions without an associated SonicWALL Unified Threat Management (UTM) device.
